The Third Man, UK film (1949), directed by Carol Reed, from the story by Graham Greene. An unintelligent but tenacious writer of Westerns (Joseph Cotten) arrives in post war Vienna to join his old friend Harry Lime (Orson Welles), who seems to have met with an accident ... or has he? Also starts Trevor Howard and Alida Valli. This film was voted number one in the British Film Institute/BBC top 100 British films of the Century.
