The documentary "Stone Reader" (2003) follows political filmmaker and voracious reader Mark Moskowitz as he tries to track down author Dow Mossman. Moskowitz had read a review of Mossman's debut novel "The Stones of Summer" in the early seventies but never took the time to read the book until almost thirty years later. He loved the book and decided to read all of Mossman's work, and was surprised to find there was no more. In fact, he found, it was almost impossible to find the first book. Moskowitz talks to Mossman's publishers, the writer of the review, many writers and professors, all trying to find out what happened to the illusive author and why he was never published again.
