'Sinners', Ireland 2002, BBC TV movie directed by Aisling Walsh, from a script by Elizabeth Mickery. Recently orphaned Anne Marie finds herself pregnant and is promptly dispatched to a local convent There, in the 'Magdalen laundry', she will spend her pregnancy in the company of other women who have in different ways transgressed the strict moral codes that regulate female behaviour in staunchly Catholic Ireland. With Ruth McCabe as the evil Reverend Mother, and Anne Marie Duff [who also starred in 'The Magdalen Sisters' (2002)] as Anne Marie.
