"Nicholas Nickleby" is the story of a boy orphaned at a young age and left to fend for himself in England. It resembles several other Charles Dickens's novels. The title character is played by Charlie Hunnam along with an ensemble cast including Christopher Plummer as Ralph Nickleby, Nathan Lane as Vincent Crummles, and Anne Hathaway as Madeline Bray. The film was nominated for the 2002 Golden Globe for best motion picture musical or comedy, but lost out to "Chicago."
