John Polidori, British author of horror, born on September 7th 1795 in London. He studied medicine, and by the age of 20 had become personal physician and travelling companion to Lord Byron. Probably most famous for 'The Vampyre' - the book which led to the creation of the character 'Dracula'. Suicide, or the reckless abuse of drugs killed him at the age of twenty six.
