E.M. Forster (1879-1970) was an English novelist, essayist and short story writer. Affiliated with the Bloomsbury group he became famous for his novels, which include Where Angels fear to Tread (1905), The Longest Journey (1907), A Room with a View (1908), Howards End (1910), A Passage to India (1924) and Maurice (published 1971). He also published several short stories, essays and other non-fictional texts.
