Lord Jeffrey Howard Archer was born in 1940, and in 1969 become the youngest member of the House of Commons. In 1985 he became chairman of the Conservative party and was made a Lord in 1992. He recently ran for Mayor of London, but was forced to withdraw over allegations of lying in court. He is now serving a four-year prison sentence for purgery and perverting the course of justice. He has written several novels and is currently writing his memoirs.
