(b. 1971; Saumur, France) In 2001 the fashion press dubbed Ghesquiere the "new Messiah". From 1995 he rocketed to fashion super-stardom with his Le Dix collections for Balenciaga and the appointment as chief designer at the house by 1997. He also served a brief stint at Milanese label Callaghan, which ended with his very highly-touted Spring 2001 presentation.
