Adrover became an instant darling of the fashion scene when he debuted in New York with his Fall 200 collection, attended by Alexander McQueen. The following season saw Anna Wintour, Editor-in-Chief at Vogue US, in the front row.

In 2000 the Council of Fashion Designers of America awarded him the Perry Ellis Best New Designer Award.
