Samuel "Sambo" Mockbee (1944-2001) was an American architect, artist, and teacher. He founded Auburn University's Rural Studio, and was the recipient of many awards, including a MacArthur Foundation "Genius Grant" and a posthumous Gold Medal from the American Institute of Architects.
