The creator/producer of "Pinky & The Brain", Peter Hastings, has defined "Narf" as an "emotional sound effect" (which includes Pinky's similar outbursts: zort, poit, egad, blarg, and troz... which is "zort" spelled backwards).

Useless Facts:

- The origin of "narf" is credited to Eddie Fitzgerald, a Warner Bros animator who once received a gag credit on "Tiny Toon Adventures" as the: "Guy Who Says 'Narf.'"

- The character design for Pinky was also modelled after Eddie Fitzgerald.
