Born on January 30, 1928, Hal Prince is a theater producer and director associated with many of the best-known Broadway musicals. He started his career as an assistant stage manager to theatrical producer and director, George Abbott. Along with Abbott, he co-produced 'The Pajama Game', which won the 1955 Tony Award for Best Musical. Working with Stephen Sondheim on West Side Story, the collaboration led to a series of productions including 'Company', 'Follies' and 'Sweeney Todd'. He also directed 'Evita' and 'The Phantom of the Opera' for Andrew Lloyd Webber. In 1995, Prince won his twentieth Tony Award in 1995 for Best Direction for the musical revival 'Show Boat'. He is the winner of more Tony Awards than anyone in history Married to Judy Chaplin, daughter of Saul Chaplin, they are parents of actress Daisy Prince .
